Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Diniz Aveiro welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro into the world on February 5, 1985 in Madeira, Portugal. Hugo, Cristiano's older brother, and Elma and Liliana Cátia, his older sisters, are his siblings. His father, who was motivated by former US President Ronald Reagan, gave him the name.
It was also on the island of Madeira where Cristiano first developed his footballing prowess. He started out as a local player for Nacional, and by the time he was 12 years old, he had established himself as one of Madeira's greatest footballers. He didn't take long to attract the interest of other important Portuguese clubs. Benfica was one of Sporting, a team that Cristiano and his father supported when they were young. The desire for her son was to play with players like Figo, thus he ultimately played for Sporting, a team his mother loved and supported growing up.
At sixteen, former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier then discovered him, but Liverpool had no plans to recruit him at the time since they believed he was still too young and needed more time to hone his skills. However, Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager of Manchester United, took notice of Cristiano when Sporting played against them and trounced them in the summer of 2003.
Ronaldo became the first Portuguese player to play for Manchester United. He first asked for the number 28 because he didn't think he could live up to the expectations of earlier stars who wore the number 7 jersey, such George Best and David Beckham.
The year from 2006 to 2008 turned out to be a fairly contentious year for the celebrity. Regarding his fair play, I criticised Cristiano at the 2006 World Cup. He received harsh criticism for sending off Wayne Rooney, a player for the England squad, in a quarterfinal game against them.It didn't take long for the public to once again welcome Cristiano. He received the PFA Young Player of the Year award, PFA Player of the Year award, PFA Fans' Player of the Year award, Portuguese Footballer of the Year award, FWA Footballer of the Year award, Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, and Manchester United Players' Player of the Year award in 2007.He reclaimed the PFA Player of the Year Award in 2008 for the second consecutive year. Ronaldo had to contend with difficulties surrounding his club move to Real Madrid, a Spanish powerhouse, in the same year. He ultimately remained with Manchester United and made it clear to the public that he had no plans to leave the team.
Nuno, Cristiano's cousin, and ZE, his brother-in-law, are now his neighbours. He is a very family-focused individual off the field. Growing up, when he was considering making football his career, he admitted it was really tough for him to make that decision because it would mean spending less time with his family, especially his mother, who he claims plays an important role in his life.
Cristiano likes to cook in his spare time. He stated in an interview that he typically prepares dinner before heading to soccer practise.Cristiano rarely has free time to watch TV because he is always working out. He claims he enjoys watching a local Portuguese game show that primarily comprises trivia questions if he has the time to watch it. Cristiano is a voracious learner who enjoys discovering new things every day. One of Cristiano's biggest pet peeves is smoking, along with a lack of effort and dishonesty from others.
Cristiano flew to Indonesia when the tsunami struck South East Asia to aid those in need. To aid in donating money to charity, he auctioned off a few items. He intends to get involved in more charitable endeavours in the future since he thinks that being a celebrity will make it easier for him to ask for help from people.
